Cockroach Poker

Cockroach Poker is a mischievous and entertaining bluffing game where the goal isn’t to win—but to avoid losing! Featuring a cast of creepy critters like cockroaches, rats, and stink bugs, this game is all about deception, reading your opponents, and dodging defeat.

How to Play:

  1. Setup:
  2. The 64-card deck includes 8 different critters, with 8 copies of each. Shuffle and deal the cards evenly among players.
  3. Gameplay:
  4. On their turn, a player chooses a card from their hand, places it face down, and passes it to another player, declaring what critter it is (e.g., “This is a cockroach”).
  5. The receiving player can:
    • Accept: Guess if the declaration is true or false. If correct, the card goes back to the giver; if wrong, they keep the card.
    • Pass: Look at the card without revealing it and pass it to another player, repeating or changing the declaration.
    • The round ends when a card is taken, and the player who takes it starts the next round.
  6. Losing the Game:
    • The game ends when:
    • A player collects 4 cards of the same critter.
    • A player runs out of cards in their hand.
    • The first player to meet either condition loses, while everyone else wins.

Why It’s Fun:

  • Bluffing and Tactics: Deception is key—convince others to accept cards they don’t want while dodging unwanted critters yourself.
  • Social Dynamics: Laughter and tension build as players try to outwit and outbluff each other.
  • Quick and Easy: Simple rules make it accessible for all ages, but the gameplay offers endless fun and strategy.

In Cockroach Poker, it’s not about being the best—it’s about making sure you’re not the worst! Can you keep a poker face and dodge those pesky critters?
