Hek Meck
A Delightful Dice Game of Strategy and Luck. Hek Meck, also known as Pickomino, is a fun and engaging dice game designed by the renowned Reiner Knizia. Perfect for families or casual gamers, it accommodates 2 to 7 players aged 8 and up.
The game is centered around a group of chickens competing to gather the most fried worms from a communal grill. It combines elements of strategy, luck, and light-hearted rivalry, making it an ideal choice for game nights.
Gameplay Overview
Objective: Players aim to collect the most “fried worm” tiles by the end of the game. These tiles are worth points and are placed in the center at the start.
Dice Rolling:
- On their turn, players roll 8 dice.
- From each roll, they must set aside all dice of one value (e.g., all 4s or all 5s).
- The remaining dice are rolled again, and the process repeats.
Scoring and Collecting Tiles:
- To claim a tile, a player must accumulate enough points (sum of dice values) to match or exceed the tile’s value.
- Players must also set aside at least one die showing a worm symbol, as worms are required to “purchase” a tile.
Busts and Penalties:
- If a player cannot legally set aside a die (e.g., they’ve already set aside dice of all remaining values), they bust.
- Busting forces the player to:
- Return their last collected tile to the grill.
- Flip the highest-value tile on the grill face-down, making it unavailable.
Stealing from Opponents:
- If a player’s score matches the value of a tile held by an opponent, they can steal that tile instead of taking one from the grill.
Game Features
