Hek Meck
Hek Meck, also known as Pickomino, is a delightful dice game of strategy and luck from renowned designer Reiner Knizia. This light-hearted game invites 2 to 7 players aged 8 and up to join a group of quirky chickens in a race to collect the most fried worms from the communal grill. With a blend of strategy, dice-rolling excitement, and friendly competition, it’s perfect for families and casual gamers alike.
How to Play:
- Setup:
- Arrange the domino-style “worm tiles” in ascending order on the grill. Each tile displays a point value and a number of fried worms.
- Gameplay:
- On their turn, players roll eight dice, trying to match dice values to numbers on the worm tiles.
- Players must lock in at least one value per roll and may continue rolling with the remaining dice. However, they must be cautious—if they can’t lock in a new value, their turn ends in a bust!
- To claim a worm tile, players must meet or exceed its point value and include at least one die showing a worm symbol.
- Players can even steal tiles from their opponents if the exact score matches their top tile.
- Winning:
- When no more tiles are left on the grill, the game ends. The player with the most worms on their collected tiles wins!
Why You’ll Love It:
- Strategic Decisions: Balance risk and reward by deciding when to keep rolling or stop.
- Lighthearted Rivalry: Stealing tiles adds a playful twist to the game.
- Quick and Accessible: Easy to learn and fast-paced, making it ideal for all ages.
Whether you’re strategizing to secure the juiciest worm or laughing over a busted roll, Hek Meck promises a cluckin’ good time for everyone!
